II. PREPARING TO RUN
Simply type BBS from the Command Line DOS Prompt to run the program.
A. BEGINNING SCREEN
The first screen that you will see when you run the program is
the Introduction screen to the Generic BBS Welcome Program. It
will NOT appear in any specific version that you might choose to
order. The screen was included simply to let you know that the
best way we could present this new concept to you and let you see
first-hand what it can do for you was to include an actual BBS and
their Menu screens.
B. WELCOME SCREEN
The Welcome screen will list the BBS Name along with the BBS
Data and Voice Numbers (if desired). The Welcome Screen is
basically an introduction screen to tell the user the name
and phone numbers of the BBS. This is the First Screen that
your users will see when they run Your Customized version of
the program, should you decide to order.
C. MAIN MENU
From the Main Menu, you will have 5 distinct choices. They
are as follows:
1. What is Your BBS all about? You can place general
information about your BBS here, specialties, a short
history, etc.
2. Tour your BBS. You will be able to actually give users
a complete offline tour of your BBS system, show them
the various screens, menus, help files, and explanations
of each. In many cases, users will be amazed as to how
realistic this can be.
3. Explain Access and Security levels. You will be able to
show users the different access levels available, and
what the benefits and requirements of each are.
4. Print Subscription Form. If you charge for access fees,
or if you accept donations to your BBS, your users will
have a simple way to print out your registration form to
fill out and send in to you.
5. Coming Attractions. Yes, you will be able to tell users
what you have in store (or in mind) for the BBS in the
future.
Page 6
D. THE ACTUAL BBS TOUR
Upon Entering Your actual BBS Tour, the user will be presented
with the EXACT 'look and feel' of the BBS system you are
running, from Logon to LogOff. They will enter your system,
seeing your first screen, be it your Mailer menu, or your
Prelog screen. They will then be able to "walk through" the
entire LogOn procedure, and arrive at your Main Menu. Then,
at your Main Menu, they will be able to access each of your
other menus, i.e. utilities, files, bulletins, Doors, etc.,
just as if they were actually on your system. Not only will
they be able to see your system as it appears, but will also
be able to get help concerning each of the menu options that
are available to them.
III. ORDERING INFORMATION
A. ORDERING
The author, John Hrusovszky, markets The BBS Welcome Program under
the ExampleWare concept. Orders are accepted from BBS SysOps who
understand the full potential in which such a program can have on
their BBS and overall profitability. Let's face it, in today's
age of online services, most serious SysOps are attempting to do
two things: Make it easy for the user to use their system - to
fully understand the options available to them, and to at least
break even on its operation. The BBS Welcome Program can greatly
help in both areas. What better way than to entice a user to
subscribe/donate to your system than by sending them a program,
reinforcing to them that you DO care that they understand your
system and want to be as much help to them as possible?
There are three levels of BBS Welcome Programs in which you can
order:
1. The BASIC version, which lists all information on your
BBS along with your ANSI Menu Screens, and Help files
for each command on your system.
2. The EXPERT version, which lists all the above, along with
2 or 3 level deep Menu Screens, depending upon what your
actual BBS uses. In essence, this version will be nearly
Identical to logging into your BBS System.
3. The ELITE version, while does all of the EXPERT version,
plus it lists the ASCII text of each and every one of your
system bulletins, shows your actual doors in operation,
and lists your System News file for users to view while
offline.

D. EXPLANATION OF EXAMPLEWARE
ExampleWare is Commercial Example Software that you are allowed to
"check out" before you Actually Order it. Obviously, the
ExampleWare in and of itself is not useful to you for your users,
but is very useful in determining that this concept is for you.
The BBS Welcome Program holds specific copyrights, along with
'Look and Feel' copyrights. When your order is received and
processed, you will receive a limited license to distribute your
custom version of The BBS Welcome Program, along with any
documentation that you so desire.

E. DISCLAIMER/AGREEMENT
We are NOT responsible for any items that we receive from you in
error. It is YOUR obligation to provide us with exact copies of
what you wish placed in Your custom version of The BBS Welcome
Program. All files and documents that we receive from you will
be entered into the program EXACTLY as we receive them. Make sure
you are happy with the menu appearance and the wording of text
files that you are sending us for inclusion.
Also, we may log onto your BBS if we are not 100% familiar with
it's 'look and feel', so we can make a very professional version
for you and your users. We will need sufficient access on your
system to be able to get to know it well so that we can reproduce
it reliably.
